Embracing the Extraordinary
Every organization has its unsung heroes, the individuals who quietly go above and beyond, leaving a lasting impact on their colleagues and clients. For November, we proudly honor Lisa Wigness as the Employee Spotlight at Loman-Ray Insurance. Her journey from extraordinary roles in far-flung locations to her unwavering dedication in the insurance industry is nothing short of remarkable.
Lisa has had many adventures, not the least of which included serving as a Buyer for the Navy/Marine Corp Exchange. Her role took her on a globe-trotting adventure with her home base in Iwakuni, Japan. Her time was split between bases in Japan, Korea, and the US.
It was the connections she forged with Linda and Rudy, who insured the business she managed at the time, that eventually led her to the insurance industry. When her former business closed its doors after 14 years, Linda extended an opportunity to join CF&H Insurance (which later joined Loman-Ray in 2021). Lisa was initially unsure if she was a good fit, but she embraced the challenge. Now, after 12 years in insurance, she proudly reflects on her journey: "I'm happy to be part of the Loman-Ray crew!"
Lisa's professional focus lies in Health, Life, and Medicare. These areas resonate with her on a deeply personal level, as she believes they form the bedrock of intimate client relationships. Lisa explains, "Health, Life, and Medicare are such personal products, you can't help but form close relationships with clients, and then the referrals that follow are such a compliment. I just love helping navigate these lines."
Her proudest moment at Loman-Ray exemplifies the profound impact she can have on clients' lives. Lisa recounts a touching story of a client struggling to make ends meet. By assisting her with a Medicare Advantage plan, Lisa not only provided financial relief but also helped restore her client's self-esteem. The new policy allowed her to receive some dental work that just wasn’t possible before. "It felt like I had really done something important," she says, "it's the small things."
In her personal life, Lisa's enthusiasm knows no bounds. She cherishes her time with her large, fun-loving family. Her diverse interests include golfing, camping, boating, kayaking, and archery. She once held National Championship titles in archery and was even invited to compete at the world level.
If she could choose any superhero power, Lisa would opt for the ability to fly. Her childhood memories of her father teasing her and her sisters about his flying abilities left an indelible mark. "I would fly right past him," she quips, "and see if he joined me, that way I would know if it was true!”
Lisa Wigness embodies the spirit of Loman-Ray Insurance, where dedication, compassion, and a dash of adventure come together to create a winning formula.
